The Church of the Ascension is an Anglican church within the diocese of Worcester and was founded in 1892, at that time as a mission church.
It is part of St Mary's Kingswinford Team Ministry, and regularly takes part in activities with the other denominations in the area.

It has strong connections with the Church of the Ascension primary school just across from the church.
